Radiological Engineering / Dose Analysis

Red Wolf Associates personnel have extensive experience performing radiological dose analysis. Analyses have been completed with both TID-14844 source terms (total effective dose equivalent (TEDE), whole-body, thyroid, and skin doses) and Alternate Source Term (AST) (Regulatory Guide 1.183) methods. Events analyzed include:

  • Loss of Coolant Accident (LOCA)
  • Fuel Handling Accident
  • Main Steam Line Break (MSLB)
  • Steam Generator Tube Rupture
  • Locked Rotor
  • Control Rod Ejection
  • Feedwater Line Break
  • Letdown Line Break
  • Cask Drop

Red Wolf Associates supports all aspects of the dose analysis including:

  • Source term development
  • Radionuclide transport calculations including control room and off-site atmospheric dispersion (X/Q) factors
  • Meteorological data processing, evaluation / validation, and reporting
  • Shielded dose
  • Sump pH

Other applications for Red Wolf Associates radiological engineering capabilities include:

  • Environmental Qualification (EQ) dose analysis
  • Shielding design
  • Off-site routine dose analysis
  • Personnel exposure
